Nutritional therapy is an integrative (meaning it can and should be used with other treatments!) and holistic approach to nutrition in which we use a (mostly... there's always room for chocolate chip cookies and cake) whole food diet along with a balanced lifestyle to honor the body's ability to restore and regenerate itself.
Instead of using the traditional band-aid approach that tries to patch symptoms or conditions, we have an inside out approach to all things related to nutrition, looking for the root cause of imbalances, and planning ways to restore balance where it's been lost.
After a client intake session, an initial Food and Lifestyle Plan is created. Once established, nutritional therapy sessions are used to talk about what worked, what didn't work, and how to keep building on your wellness. Think of yourself as a detective: we investigate and figure out the culprit behind imbalances within the body. It could be an undetected food hypersensitivity, trouble in the microbiome, poor meal timing, an external stressor... we don't stop until we find the root cause!
Inflammation is a normal part of the immune system process. It is necessary to maintain balance in the body. When inflammation does not resolve, it becomes "chronic". This is where inflammatory conditions begin to take hold.
Every Lifestyle Nutrition Plan addresses inflammation preventatively.
My clients come to me with a variety of concerns, all of which are a result of inflammation and autoimmunity.
At each session we review a symptom survey to assess how the body is responding to your nutrition.
If you have a specific health concern, please contact me so that we can chat more!
Paleo. Keto. Gluten-Free. Low Carb. Low Fodmap. Intermittent Fasting. Vegetarian. Vegan. The Mediterranean. Carnivore. Whole 30. What else?!?!
I cut through the noise and find the nutrition plan that includes real food that is good for YOU. No trends, just science-based nutrition strategies that we mold to fit into your life.
The truth is, many of my clients are required to perform an elimination diet of some sort, whether that be gluten or a different food group.
But DON'T PANIC!
First, your plan will include all the education you need to understand why you might be eliminating a specific food. Second, for everything you might have to eliminate, I give you TONS of options on new foods to add to your diet. Third, you have access to me via email and secure messaging.
Trust me, within two weeks, you'll be feeling better and navigating your new diet like a boss.
No. Please, just no.
I am highly sensitive to this subject. Gluten sensitivity is a serious condition, not a trend for weight loss. If you need to lose weight quickly for that wedding coming up or that high school reunion, I am not your girl.
I can, if you are willing to understand that weight gain is a complex, inflammatory condition that is much more than calories in and calories out.
I do not guarantee specific weight loss number goals - the focus is on weight management for long term health.
I am all about the feels, and I firmly believe that when you FEEL better, and you FEEL nourished, you will begin to lose weight and keep it off.
